i weigh 194 lbs (5'10") and when i do chin ups right about number 6 I get pain in my neck on my right side right in my traps. I can only do 8 pull ups due to the pain. The pain is located almost on my collar bone, i've dislocated my right shoulder in the past and also when i run for 30 min or more i get a slight pain feeling in the same area. I do work out on a some what regular basis including my shoulders and i still get th pain when doing chin ups or pull ups. Thanks

This could be as a result of muscle strain, especially if you are just starting out with doing these kind of exercises. I would recommend seeing your doctor for further evaluation of the situation to see what they think could be going on to cause this.
