about my controlling boyfriend?

I posted about how my boyfriend was controlling and how he scared me You guy's told me to get out before I lose my life I just wanted to say thank you very much!.. I got out.. He is stalking me but I will be getting a restraining order tomorrow. thank you!

AWESOME!!!! Do yourself a favor - buy a gun and take shooting lessons. Or buy a taser and take lessons too. Whatever is legal in your state.

A restraining order is just a piece of paper - you will need something to protect yourself.

AT ALL COSTS --------- NEVER LET YOUR EX GET WITHIN 10 FEET OF YOU.

Have a coworker walk you to your car. Don't take the same train home from work (or at the same time). Do your shopping/banking/eating, etc... at a different location than your usual location that your ex boyfriend is familiar with.

You HAVE to take protective measures NOW.

PLEASE change all of your schedules and habits so that your bf will not see a pattern and can't stake out any place. Shop at a different supermarket, video store, etc... Don't go to Starbucks if you usually do go to Starbucks.

Try never to let yourself be alone.

PARK your car as close to the store entrance and lights as possible. Don't shop alone. Always carry your taser/pepper spray in your hand as you walk to and from your car and/or residence.

Get security lights.

Get a big dog at the shelter to keep your ex bf from feeling he can enter your house/apartment.

Get all of your locks changed asap.

There is so much you can do. Don't end up dead by failing to take precautions.

I'm glad that you've done the right thing and make sure that you get that restraining order. Remember a man has no right to control you.

Also try and keep to public places and don't go out a night alone. Good luck and be safe
