I don't know, but I would rather error on the side of God's word. If there is no Pearly Gate, then I don't have to worry. But if there is, and I meet St Peter, Then I won't have to worry either. I would rather error on the side of God. And that means on all theological questions. Good Bless!

Just to restate the obvious - if the atheists are correct [in not believing in God]
And [if] we all evolved from monkeys,
Then why are there still monkeys?
I suspect for the same reason that there are people such as yourself who believe that atheists have such a poor grasp of evolutionary theory or why there are still people who believe in God --
Evolution is about the formation of new species - and not every individual in a given population is part of the group which is fit to survive. The process of evolution takes many many generations and sometimes there are still 'throwbacks' to the ancestral type even after thousands of generations.
Best to think of humanity as a work in progress whether it has an intelligent designer or not...

Point 1: Not everyone who believes in evolution is an atheist and not all atheists believe in evolution.
Point 2: The theory does not state that we evolved from monkeys it states that all primates (people, apes, monkeys) evolved from another animal a long time ago. It's like a tree--the original animal is the trunk and humans, apes and monkeys are all branches. The original animal no longer exists, but it's descendants, who adapted to their environments in different ways, do.
See link below for example of the tree.

I am happy you didn't ask why aren't monkeys still evolving into humans. Maybe a few thousands of years ago we came from monkeys, just like apes are different than monkeys so a different branch of monkeys evolved into apes, just like dogs and wolves, or cats and lions. Lizards and reptiles, frogs and toads common sense in not your best friend huh

Monkey's are actually smarter then people. They have no belief in nonsense and have greater retention then most people. Further we did not evolve from monkey's. We have similar DNA - perhaps you need to study and become just a little educated.

This question never fails to amuse me.
We didn't... DID NOT evolve from monkeys. We are apes, we evolved along side the other modern apes. We are cousins in a sense, as we share a common ancestor.

Monkeys evolved how they did and humans evolved how we did from a separate species of ape like creatures we owe a lot of our development to low inbreeding and extending our gene pool by out breeding and mingling.

All right, first of all... We did not come from monkeys. According to the theory of evolution, monkeys, apes, humans, etc., all came from a common ancestor.
The common ancestor evolved, over time, into the creatures you see today.

Humans did not evolve from monkeys, but both humans and other primates evolved from similar ancestry. We would have split off around 5 to 8 million years ago to form modern day humans, apes, chimps, etc...

I appears I've drunk enough to have mistaken monkeys with a non-existant mythological creature...
