It means a life-long (eternal, actually) relationship with God the Father, through Yeshua the Messiah and only begotton Son of God, by the power of the Holy Spirit. It's a committed relationship. You work on it every single day. So does God. You make mistakes. Everybody does. God doesn't leave just because you screw up. You learn to be honest, as opposed to being right. There's a lot more, but that's a beginning.

A Christian is a person who trusts God. There are many other people claiming things about God, a Christian is someone who believes that God sent His Son to die for their sins. And if we trust God through His Son, we will be resurrected from the dead to eternal life with Him as He raised His Son from the dead.
If a person does that, he or she will become a dwelling for the Spirit of God. As the person continues to trust God the workings of the Spirit of God begins to change them according to the will of God.
A Christian goes through life finding ways to trust God. That person will do what is called "growing in the Lord", and they benefit from this relationship in many ways.
So being a Christian means that you have a relationship with the God who created all things, who loves, who judges righteously, who cares for the individual who trusts Him. This is what God created mankind for in the first place. So being a Christian means to return to the God who desires to relate to them.

my turn! a christian would know that the bible is the book or map that jesus left for his children to prepare them for the kingdom of heaven. JESUS was the only one thats been to heaven and back thus he can lead us their only if we follow his instuctions,
HE EVEN SAYS THAT HE WOULD send us a guide so that we wont be lost in knowing what is in his instruction manual.. if he himself were her would he tell us anything different then whathe has left us in his letters to us?,,
A CHRISTIAN IF HE is truly connected to him and a part of his family would not disreguard the laws that govern his kingdom,. HE even left instructions that tell us if we are really a part of his kingdom orr trying to get in without having a relationship with him.. are u a illegiatement spiritual child??
u may not know who your earthly father or mother is and that is ok but u can know your heavenly father and his son and this alone gives u the right to be adopted into his family ,, . peace .. bro . mj

To be a Christian is to believe that Jesus was treated as we deserve so that we can be treated as He deserved. That He died on the Cross and with His death, he took our sins on himself and payed our debt of sin.
Because we believe that.....
To be a Christian is to follow Christ. It is our duty to read and request (from the Holy Spirit) understanding of the Scriptures to do that to the best of our abilities. It is our obligation to learn as much as we can about Christ and God's will and then do our best to do as God wants. This does not mean blindly following any religion. Seek, ask, knock, question.... discover.
