Existence, no. Not at all.
Most atheist would be happy to live in a country with theists of any belief structure, as long as that belief structure didn't impose upon them. The problem that many atheists find in theistic belief structures is the need to "spread the word," and resulting problems that arise from it.
Would atheists be happy to live peacefully with Muslims?? You bet, just give us back our Trade Center Towers and quit taking away some of the most basic human rights at the whim of some Mullahs interpretation of the directives of Muhammed.
Would atheists be happy to live with Christians peacefully?? Oh, yeah. Just keep your noses out of the science books and government coffers. Sure, evolution theory has a hole or seventy-five, but teaching creationism? In public schools funded by public tax money??? Bleeping bleepity bleep!!
Believe what you want, but grant me the same right, please.

I felt less threatened back in the days when Christians minded their own business. I'm old enough to remember the 70s and the early 80s, before the Religious Wrong got into politics.
I agree with the posters who worry about Dumbya (or other religious nuts for that matter - including fundamentalists of non-Christian religions) - who are actually looking forward to Armageddon. What kind of sick @sshole WANTS to see the end of the world??

No, Christians are threatened because they have something to lose. They are scared that when they die they will just cease to exist. And with the trend of more and more people becoming Athiests, Christians have much to lose. Athiests have made their piece with life ending at death and so they have nothing to fear when it comes to Christians. Most of us are just annoyed at their stupidity when it comes to pushing their religion on others. The only thing that really pisses me off is when politics is not secular. Like abortion, I mean, if Christians are against it, just don't do it. Don't tell other women and make them feel bad for wanting autonomy!

Wow this is quite the loaded and generalized question.
Most of either side probably arent threatened. The vocal few on both sides like to argue and believe they are right and the other side should no longer exist.

Not since we live under rule of law in the USA, but they are threatened in other countries by other faiths.
Oh wait, that Christian neighbor of mine pointed a gun at me that time for being a "god damned atheist!"

I don't feel threatened by their existence. If they start storming the streets with pitchforks and torches then I would feel threatened. Right now they are just a minor annoyance.

Christians have openly stated that they would like to rid the planet of atheists (see the pope's recent diatribe blaming atheists for everything). Given that Christians have a long history of blaming their problems on non-believers or "others," I would say we'd do well to keep on our guard.

Well, there is something frightening about people thinking it's normal for their leader to be compelled to start a war because God told him to. Does that frighten anyone else?
Christianity threatens progress, equality, peace, and stability. We should all feel threatened.

Yes, I do feel threatened by xians, as a group, I find they don't really comprehend the idea of "Separation of Church and State". They feel the need to legislate their beliefs.
