No. The arguments against the life of God have been around for hundreds of years, argued by potential of most of the brightest minds the international has ever seen. And yet, concept hasn't diminished, its greater beneficial, exceptionally interior the previous century. the present crop of regularly occurring atheist writers are not even that smart on an psychological point, yet fairly place self belief in emotional arguments to complement positions while their favourite arguments fail. There are smart arguments for atheism, yet you will not locate it Dawkins, Harris, and Hitchens. for occasion, that is been pronounced that the only reason there is concept in God is via the fact there's a desire for it. if it is so, then you will additionally say that because of the fact one has a desire for foodstuff, there is not any such ingredient as starvation. Does that argument is smart? Of all the purposes of someone, why is concept in God the only one that's not actual? the only consistent argument it is sound the two intellectually and philosophically is the argument stemming from the life of evil. that is debunked however, however the argument is consistent and logical, unlike those proposed by potential of the in the previous pronounced authors.

Where has this 'much discussion' taken place? I haven't seen anything about the 'promotion' of atheism. I only see the constant 'promotion' of christianity on far too many TV channels, which I hastily switch off.
Understand that atheists don't really care much about such things. We just like to get on with living our one and only existence we will ever have and maximising upon it where possible, but enjoying it to the max anyway.
Thus, the TINY amount of publicity that atheism gets compared to the daily barrage of rubbish from the evangelists and the like is hardly threatening to anyone.
Do YOU feel threatened? Does anyone feel threatened? If so, why? Atheists are harmless. We are not blocking scientific advances as is Son-of-a-Bush, We are not exploding ourselves outside christian churches or police stations. We are not on TV 24/7 asking for your donations. We are not calling door-to-door promoting anything at all. Threatened? Get real?

Why would I be threatened by another person's lifestyle, and most importantly, beliefs; that's ridiculously lame and kind of stupid. If a person doesn’t want to believe in God, then let that person have the will to do just that b/c everyone has the freedom of choice. That shouldn’t be of anybody’s concern, let alone, a THREAT. And if people DO feel uncomfortable with athiests or anything that stands as a treath to their own beliefs, than that just shows they have no confidence in themselves and in their values.

People always feel threatened when their core beliefs are questioned. It is frightening for many people to look beyond what they have been brought up with, and find it much easier to attack the beliefs of others, rather than try and understand varying viewpoints.

Atheism is both separate from the majority, and relatively unusual in the US.

As for those who claim the US to be a Christian nation...

"The Bible is not my book nor Christianity my profession. I could never give assent to the long, complicated statements of Christian dogma."

- Abraham Lincoln, American president (1809-1865).

"I have found Christian dogma unintelligible. Early in life, I absenteed myself from Christian assemblies."

- Benjamin Franklin

"During almost fifteen centuries has the legal establishment of Christianity been on trial. What has been its fruits? More or less, in all places, pride and indolence in the clergy; ignorance and servility in the laity; in both, superstition, bigotry, and persecution."

- James Madison

"This would be the best of all possible worlds, if there were no religion in it."

-John Adams

"The Christian god can easily be pictured as virtually the same god as the many ancient gods of past civilizations. The Christian god is a three headed monster; cruel, vengeful and capricious. If one wishes to know more of this raging, three headed beast-like god, one only needs to look at the caliber of people who say they serve him. They are always of two classes: fools and hypocrites."

"Millions of innocent men, women and children, since the introduction of Christianity, have been burnt, tortured, fined and imprisoned; yet we have not advanced one inch towards uniformity." –Thomas Jefferson, Notes on Virginia, 1782.

"All national institutions of churches, whether Jewish, Christian or Turkish, appear to me no other than human inventions, set up to terrify and enslave mankind, and monopolize power and profit. "

Thomas Paine

This falls under the category of "Why are Christians looking forward to the end of the world?"

It figured in their faith that way.

So it's not that I am threatened by the promotion of Atheism; partly because they by doing so are proving me right, that people - even Atheists have an innate ability to develop towards being religious, and that's what they are doing with their 'pseudo - religion' ; but also because it figures into the word of God so well. The Atheists are only doing what God told us they would do in the Last Days.

So with eagerness I stand against Atheism, and with eagerness I wait for what God will do next - that is: Make things worse for the ungodly.

people will always feel threatened when their own beliefs and religions are questioned. but so much of the western world is built up on christian values. that there's going to be way more uproar but soon we will accept atheism like we did homosexuals and abortion.

because Christians want you to believe what they believe. They think god is the answer, god is the one and only, they wont accept anything else. Have you ever had a conversation to a Christian's about the "existence of god"? If you ever come up with anything denying the existence of god they will completely shut it out and refuse to talk about it anymore.
