Even 'dumb' animals engage in what we might consider prostitution - the exchange of sex for food or services of some kind, so I'm going with the latter.

hrmmm well if you believe in the story of adam and eve... Adam believed in God, so there's your establishment of religion... then God made Eve... what does this mean? well if you had sex with every man on Earth, would you be called a prostitute? so as soon as Eve had sex with Adam, she was a prostitute.... and there you have it... really close, but religion would have come first in this case

I think religion is older because the cognitive development of a human occurs before the sexual awakening of a person. Meaning, a person can ask questions or wonder about life, how it came about, who is in charge before they, developmentally, have a desire or knowledge of trading sex for goods.
