i'm not experiencing any slowdowns or problems with my ps3 but i'm always downloading demos and trailers. after i delete them i assume my stored data is all scattered.

The PS3 doesn't use the same filesystem as Windows. I'm guessing it's using some sort of Linux file system, which is not only more resilient to fragmentation but is also self-defragmenting.

When something is deleted off of the PS3, it's deleted forever, so there is no need to defrag the PS3.

Log into the playstation website and suggest that option in a future update. Good idea.

There is no such thing, but, perhaps, if you'll install Yellow Dog, you may be able to do that.
