Does anyone else think it's rude to call someone else ugly?

I don't think anyone should be called ugly. Uglyness and attractiveness has merely been decided by humans but it's not real. Beauty is beauty within and you can love people who aren't much to look at because of the way they are as people then, after a time, you don't even notice whether or not they are attractive. No one should call anyone ugly unless they are mean and nasty on the inside like my husbands sister who probably is fairly attractive but she is so mean and nasty that I can't see past that and she appears ugly on the outside also because I can see all her meanness.

Yes I think its rude to call people ugly because what is the point? Will it change the "ugly " person? When a person spends time pointing out the faults of another it means they are spending less time improving themselves. It's true, there are some people that may have hideous faces or features but it's not like they chose that face. Perhaps they had or have a birth defect or have been horribly scarred in a fire. I have met many people who seem to have THE LOOK.. perfect faces, perfect builds.etc. and when you got to know them they were so superfical and shallow and self centered that THEY were indeed ugly. ( Actually the person who spends time pointing out all the "ugly" people is himself an ugly person.

Yes it is rude Absolutly wrong and it is up to you to make a difference stand up for that person no matter how awkward it may be there is something bueatiful (cant spell lol) in everyone a simple "hey thats not nice" or "was that called for" or "whats that got to do with the conversation "you are having with someone goes a long way eventually people will think twice before making a derogitry comment.

Everyone has a definition of what's attractive. Those that don't fit that definition would be considered ugly I guess. It's rude to call someone that, but I guess everyone has a definition of ugly. We should just keep it to ourselves, but there's no denying that ugly does exist and it's different for everyone.
I think you did it in your question except you used the words "aren't that attractive". A nice way to say "ugly"?

I think it's quite rude that people call some other ugly, when they're as ugly as the person they're calling ugly.
From experience, of a friend that put me down, just because I was naturally more big-boned than she is, saying I was kinda fat and ugly, I say most of those haters just have low self-esteem, and wants to make themself sound better to both themselves and to others, when they can't really face the facts.

It's just insecurity, and a way to make that person feel superior. It's always rude to call someone else ugly, regardless of how you look.

Of course I think that is rude behavior. The person calling the other person ugly (maybe they aren't ugly; maybe the person calling them ugly is JEALOUS and it makes them feel better to call them ugly) Other than that, I think a person who would say that to someone else is just plain ignorant.

It is never okay to call someone names. People say mean and nasty remarks to make themselves look or feel better. These people obvious have a low self-esteem to begin with to call another person ugly, and they are lacking in the looks department themselves.

It's rude, and downright unclassy, but we live in a world today where several people just don't get it. When I say they do't get it they have no compassion for how other people feel, and just can't comprehend what is right and what is wrong to say to another human being. I think a lot of people in our society need to take classes in Public Relations because several people fail the PR test each and everyday.

Of course it's rude but generally, people today don't care about other's feelings...calling someone ugly makes themselves look ok...at least in their head they feel that way...
Just as I said, they don't care about other people feelings, only their own...
