A castle, or any dwelling is 'just a house' or in other words, nothing more than bricks and mortar. The love and life of a family is the thing that makes the building become a home.

ok so baiscally what this is saying is a house is just a house and a man is just a man ontill he finds a woman. once he finds a woman the house becomes a home and the man a king. the quote is very feminist and stateing that a man can not be a king and a house can not be a home unless there is a queen to take care of it all

Any building is without grandeur until love comes to live in it. Then it is elevated to being a castle and the people there in become kings and queens among men.

It means a castle is just it - a physical structure. It becomes a home when there is love in it. It's similar to the saying: "A house is not a home."
