I would not think that you would have ink poisoning. If it is not red, swollen, you aren't sick (fever, etc), then you have nothing to worry about.

When tattoos are healing they look fantastic for the first day or so, then they look like crap for the next 2 to 3 weeks. After it has peeled it may look shiny, a little "wrinkly", and dull/faded. IF you took proper care of it, just continue using lotion for the next few weeks (coco butter every day for the life of the tattoo is great as it keeps them looking new). The dull look should go away.

If you didn't take proper care of it, it may have actually faded. IF you picked at the scabs, didn't keep it moisturized and such, then that could be to blame.

Medical? Ink poison? What else is wrong with it?
To me it just sounds as if you might need a touchup. Ask your artist. Most of the time an artist will guarantee the work within a certain amount of time.

Tattoos can lighten for a number of different reasons... From the artist not putting the ink in well enough or overworking the skin. Or maybe you put too much ointment on it or soaked it a little more than you meant to. Sometimes they just lighten up.

Also, when the artist first puts the ink in, it's all shiney and bright and new. Then a thin, dry membrane forms over the top. You don't notice it at the time but the tattoo darkens a bit during that stage, from the dead skin. This later peels away leaving the lighter, newer skin underneath.

Either way, if it's not as colorful as you'd like, go back and see your artist. They'll be able to look at your tattoo close up and tell immediately what it needs. :)

did you get a tattoo from a tattoo parlor? if you did then the ink isn't poison. just because the ink has lightened doesn't indicate poison in any way. sometimes skin just doesn't take ink. or some tattoo artists just aren't good and they don't have the right technique to make tattoos look good. it's not poison.

Tattoo shops are carefully regulated. They have high standards to meet with the health board. In my town they post their score , as if it was a fast food place.

the ink is not toxic in any way. I don't understand why you are worried that it is, but you do not need to. I don't know what would need medical attention. Seems like everything you did was right and its healing nicely.
