Media can be validly arrested if they are already interfering with the operations of the police forces.

I'm not sure what you mean by "the jump of the police."

The media covers police stories all the time, and it's usually not a problem. But, just like anyone else, they can not interfere while a police operation is in progress. If a reporter and/or cameraman gets too intrusive while the officers are in the process of executing a warrant or making an arrest, etc. they will be warned to move back. If they do not, they can face arrest for obstructing and hindering.

And thanks to Jack Flanders for your little rant which did nothing to actually answer this question.

The police can do anything they want, then lie about it later. Every cop on the department will back it up on a stack of bibles.
