It is the biggest political joke I know of. Honestly, do you even know how much money we are talking here with regards to missions, failed missions, space suits, and more missions than never pan out? Trillions. We'eve already been to Mars. Nothing there. Do we need to go back to make fer sure, fer suries? Apparently, so. Honestly. Even if a suitable place was found, do you really think you and your family would be able to go? Of course not. Who the hell are you or me? How much of your imcome are you willing to give towards finding a new plantetary home? I think it should be a taxpayer choice. I'd rather giver my money towards helping the planet on which we live before we go off destroying another that might not even exist. And if it does, it is only for the President and the like.

No they will explore a few uninhabitable planets and maybe set up experimental space stations there but they will never move a civilization to another planet. They will never send a man to another planet outside our solar system the time to reach one would take too long. Though I'm sure there are many inhabitable planets outside our solar system

You should have first asked "Will mankind ever devise a method of travel which exceeds the speed of light by several magnitudes?" because if you cannot answer that one then your question is pointless since no worlds are close enough otherwise to make a difference.

successfully ? No ..
we are not capable to surviving on another planet .. we can try .. and perhaps succeed for a period of time .. but i dont find it possible .. earth is our natural home .. we are here b/c we are capable of being on earth. If we weren't capable then .. we wouldn't exist. we dont exist on mars b/c we're not capable .. no matter how hard we try

We will find one, but it is unlikely we will ever visit it. Interstellar distances are just too vast. We could terraform Mars, though.
