I'm a fifteen year old, and I need a wayyy better haircut than the one I have now. I don't have a picture, but I have thick, naturally curly hair which I straighten, and it goes down just past my shoulders. I have a square-ish face, at least according to a friend of mine.

Ideally, I'd like a haircut with some kind of bang but I don't want to look... off, if you know what I mean. I don't know what to ask my hairdresser for without confusing her, so any help would be very much appreciated!

Ok, well, I do believe you need to stop straightening you hair... waves are cool, natural is always better, and straightening is damaging (once in a while is fine though).

As for the cut, I would vote for a layered look to take out a bit of the thickness and let your natural curls take over... have a few shorter layers near the face sort of like longer bangs. I have thick wavy hair too, and a long shag cut with lots of long layers. It lets my curl come out, and all I have to do is wash, brush, and let dry for a really cool wind-blown look! Every once in a while I will put in some mousse or light gel and crumple my hair while wet and then let it dry. It curls beautifully.

I would suggest cutting your hair above shoulder length with long layers going allthe w ay from front to back, but shorter layers in the very front for bangfs, so they can be blended in or clipped back if you do feel you look off. To accent the look, put some lowlights in yje long layers, leaving the front short layers natural, a fade the hair at the nape of your neck before adding highlights UNDER the long low lihhted layers. A cute barrete or clip, a side part and some funky fun fashion glasses with small lenses will finish yhe look and compliment your hair and face.

Go to Borders to the women's fashion magazine section. They have hair magazines there that have tons of pictures of hairstyles. When you find a hairstyle you like, you can either buy the magazine (usually five or six bucks), or just draw a little sketch of how it looks and take it to your hairdresser. I do this whenever I want something different and drastic, and it's very helpful.

A good hairdresser will be able to cut your hair for your face. You might have to spend a little more but it would be worth it. Try to take her pics of the style you like.

Just tell her what you'd like and ask her for some pointers. You wont confuse her. She's probably had costumers think the same thing. If you don't like it , it's only hair and it will grow back . Try new things.

Find a haircut in a magazine that is simular to your hairtype and that you like. I find hairstylist do better with a picture in front of them instead of trying to figure out what you want.

dont go with layers, it'll go bad with your facial structure. don't go with the asian cut either, your hair's not suited for it. if you're gonna cut it, do it as bangs with a nice, straight cut to adjust to both your hair and face
