If anyone here has taken Cymbalta for depression, how long did it take to start working?

I have taken other medications for depression. I was taking Paxil for years. I just joined a research study on Cymbalta and I took it the first time today.
I might be getting a placebo.

I can't buy into that "mass murder" thing. It's media hype as far as I'm concerned. I have worked in mental health for 20 years. I have been around violent patients but stuff like that is rare. The agency I work for has thousands of clients in three counties and nobody has every killed anybody. The news media has a way of distorting things.

If I could think positive then I would have no need to take a frickin' anti-depressant. I need answers from people with some knowledge of how cymbalta works on depression. No scare tactics or Tom Cruise nonsense, please.

When I took it, it started working after about a week. That's when I could tell a difference at least.

Be careful most of the mass murders were taking antidepressants. Like the shooter in Indiana today he was on anti depressants and the shooters in Columbine (however you spell it you know those school shooters). Even the manufacturer says their product may cause suicidal and homicidal idealizations. BE CAREFUL.

Also know if you change your perception you change your mind.
Think positively about your situation and no more depression. Besides YOU and I have nothing to be depressed about. Ask any handicapped, terminally ill, people in underdeveloped countries that don't have the necessities of life, they will be sickened by your self pity.
