I am male. Everytime I get my hair cut, my hair sticks out, especially at the sides, even if I put gel in my hair. It looks as if I can't comb my hair. Will this effect whether or not I get hired?

Note: My hair is well groomed, nothing wild. It just sticks out at the sides when every time I get a hair cut.

When you have a job interview make sure you don't have your hair cut. Make a definite attempt to create a part if this is the way you wear your hair. If you are dressed well, have your pants creased, your shoes shined , your collar buttoned with tie and a clean shirt, the hair will make little difference. Just make sure your resume is in first class order, that you answer the questions, that you speak properly and are attentive.

It's unfortunate but yes.
Go to a professional hair stylist. And tell then your problem. Don't be afraid to go to a "Beauty salon". Absolutely avoid a place like "Great Clips".

This however is a minor factor in the interview process. I would be more concerned with how capable you are at answering the interviewees questions. Do you appear nervous or confident? Do you make eye contact? Do you answer the questions or just say "I don't know". Do you use proper accepted English when speaking or do you use a lot of slang.

Your objective is to make the interviewer believe your knowledgeable, dedicated, determined, inteligent and yes, even willing to be a conformist.
Does your speech and your answers reflect that?

Maybe you want to try and keep your hair a bit longer before an important interview. I don't know whether or not it would have an impact, I think it depends on the person doing the interview and, to be blunt, how bad it looks. Are you just being self conscious over this? Can you ask a friend or someone you trust what they think? Maybe you can change your hairstyle, going for one that is a bit shorter on the sides and longer on the top.

Appearance can be a big factor during an interview, as it determines first impression and distract during ain interview if too wild. If your haircut comes out that bothersome, then why not cut it different?
