The few that dread us just aren't used to this type of forum... they're used to their church where everyone nods their head in agreement.

A Theist dreads an Atheist, if Theist is a Fanatic, Fanatic Theist is so obsessed with his own religion that he attacks other religions and atheists, and therefore fears a group of theists.

An Atheist is a person who does not believe in God, such a person do not really involve in matters of God.

There are some people who call themselves Atheists but they scold God, discuss him, talk about him(maybe in a negative way), an so on-These kind of people are not Atheists but God Haters, who are cowardly people.

Looks as if the theists dread being called idiots, brainwashed, child abusers, uneducated, stupid, bigots, anti-science, and anti-intellectuals. They also dread being lumped together under a common heading with religious groups that they oppose more than any atheist ever thought about doing. And they hate seeing legitimate history butchered by urban mythology that is circulated on YouTube.

Ironically, I had never even thought about atheists or atheism before I joined this forum. I was raised in Church for over 30 years and never once heard the word "atheist" uttered by any Christian in any of the 20 or so Churches that I attended. To this day, my entire circle of family and friends give me a dear in the headlights look when I bring up atheists - the issue is so far from their minds that they can't even relate.

Or we just pity atheists. It could look the same. Having been on the other side at one time in my life, I know my pride led me to think I was scoring points against some good Christians when in fact they were just trying to love me. Misunderstanding of motive is incredibly easy to do, especially in this conversation. Incidentally, I really lost my dread of atheism once I understood the arguments from an inside perspective. Jesus said. You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.

Edit:

Captain Atheism, I am sorry you feel so helpless. But really, you should be encouraged. You are not hecklers *at* the play; you are hecklers *in* the play. You're part of the story, and actually increase our faith, because you are a living fulfilment of prophecy.

I am a theist but I don't dread Atheists. Why would I? There is no reason to dread Atheists, we are suppose to love everyone.

We are like hecklers at a play.

They want to suspend disbelief, because they are enjoying the fiction on display on the stage.

And the atheists are out there throwing popcorn and saying "Hey, these are just actors! This whole thing is fake! Wake up, people!"

The reason the atheists do this, is because they didn't ask to watch this play. But the theists forced them into the theatre.

Theists never can grasp that very important point, though.

They dread the feeling of, how it would have been to be an Atheist!

They then thank God, they are not.

I don't think Theists dread Athiests, but I do think that they worry about them. I don't mean to sound creepy, but I believe in God, along with heaven and hell, and I feel really bad for the people that don't believe that God came to earth as a man named Jesus, and died for every sin that anyone has ever committed. Because people that don't believe that are going to hell. People that believe all of it are going to heaven as long as they accept the truth and they accept the forgiveness God is offering them. I do think that there are a lot of people who over react when they hear the word "Atheist" though. I'm not one of those people...hope I could help!

Atheiests follow science and tell about the happenings in the earth - they try to be logical in everything.

Theists are behind faith and imaginations. Theists won't be having any logical explanations for Athiest's questions. Naturally theiest are dread atheists.

To fear the person who doesn't have the same obligations means they fear they are not making a big mistake. No theist "knows" the truth, that wouldn't be belief.

It reminds me of the feeling I get when I see people studying a lot when I don't.
