Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
We are all sinners, so without God's redeeming grace we all deserve death (eternal separation from God in hell) Why would anyone hope to get that which we all deserve?
I prefer mercy.
Titus 3:4-7 But when the kindness and love of God our Savior toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, that being justified by His grace, we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
Amen!

Some people are so very quick to say God is a just God. I am very quick to say he is merciful. Every service in the Orthodox Church we sing Lord have Mercy, Lord have mercy, Lord have mercy.... Yes, God is just, but to who's standards, certainly not our standard, or he would slap us over the head every time we had an evil thought. God's justice is certainly not a justice that we can understand fully.

That's a good question. I am hoping to get what I deserve with a side helping of mercy due to my time spent on R&S.

I hope to be treated as Jesus deserves, only because He was treated as I deserved. I don't want to be treated like I deserve because that would mean destruction. I want to have God's mercy. Do I deserve it? NO. Could I ever be good enough to attain it? No!
Thank God that He sent Jesus to pay the price for me and then offer that as a gift to me.

I most definitely do not want what I deserve, and no He should not show me mercy because I do not deserve it.

I deserve an asswhoopin, but that's besides the point. As far as the afterlife goes, he's tourturing me here on earth and is ignoring me completely when i ask for help, so what's yet to come can't be anymore ****** up from someone who's supposed to be a father figure and loving to his children.

Yes, that's the end result of believing in the deities. No threats of damnation if you don't believe in them but if you do live dishonorably - zap.
If I deserve Asgard, I'll get it. If I haven't lived up to potential - a restful hall. If I do something to earn outlaw status - the river of knives in Hella's kingdom.
Ever wonder with the term Hell came from?
