1. NO! IVs are VERY uncomfortable.
2. I like to have it injected, as odd a choice as that may be. I have never had anesthia any other way beside injection, so I prefer because its familiar to me and has worked for me without any problems.
3. I've never had laughing gas.
4. I've never had a breathing tube while I was conscious. They very uncomfortable and/or painful though.
5. No, I've never needed a ventilator.
6. I've never had an oxygen mask used on me.
7. Nasal tubes look painful, but I've been lucky enough to never need them.
8. As a patient, I'm not very fond of hospitals, but I can think of worst places (like the dentist). I'm kind of used to hospitals so they really don't phase me as far as visiting. my mother has worked in intensive care for years and before that she worked in a nursing home, as did my dad and brother. As far as a place of employment, hospitals are my top choices. I did my college shadowing in a hospital, almost did my college internship at another hospital, and my dream job is too work in a psychiatric hospital.
9. I've had three surgeries in my 23 years of life.
10. I've never been in ICU as a patient, but I have been there as part of my college shadowing experience. Also, my mother works in ICU, so I've been there enough to where it doesn't bother me.

I do not understand your questions, anyone that has been in the medical will appreciate what these things can do for their patients. I don't think that they enjoy the situations as your questions seem to imply.
