Alright there is this girl I really like, she has the greatest personality, is funny, athletic, smart, and beautiful. I went way too fast and screwed up the first time, and when I asked her to homecoming she let me down softly. Now I have tried to back off so I don't look like a stalker.

Since then she has opened up to me. She starts conversations with me, she is hyper when I'm around, she flirts with me. We have even gone snowboarding together a few times and hang out.

What would your reaction be if a couple months later, a guy says to you "Amy, (her name) I try everyday to get over the fact that you don't like me. But somehow your personality and smile speak to me in a way that make that impossible"

I look deep into your eyes as I say that with true sincerity on my face. It comes from inside, not some cheesy thing that doesn't really mean anything. What would your reaction be girls? Would you give me a chance?

Keep in mind I really do mean the smile part. Yesterday I told her I like her smile because her eyes light up, and I can tell she's smiling even if she didn't move her mouth.

I'm a girl, and I still can't figure girls out, including myself. That being said, don't say anything cheesy and just ask her out on a real date, dinner and all. If she says no, accept her decision and move on with your life. A romantic guy like you will have no problem finding a nice girl who likes you back.

At the time she let you down, she had another interest in mind. But, that guy ended up being an idiot. So now, she is trying to encourage you to ask again. Been there, done that.

Truthfully... No. If you were to say those sweet things to me and punctuate it with the word "impossible" I would be afraid of you. (I happen to have a unique point of veiw for this as I have seen it from a distance.) She may heave been caught up in the heartfeltness of your words and not truely heard them. You siad yourself that you had to back off as to not seem like a stalker. Be careful with your choice of words to her.

hmm... i think it would be sweet, depending on the way you said it, or it may have come off akward. maybe she just isnt diggin you as a b/f and likes ya just as a friend, i know i get like that around certain guy friends. but i could totally be wrong, i guess i'd have to know more of the situation... like what was her response? her tone of voice? her facial expression?

omg omg! ok, im a girl. and theres this guy at my school named "bob" (thats not his real name, but...) and ive known him for about 4 months. (read to the bottom i promise i will give advice) i met him at school and weve been friends for about 3 and a half months. "bob" is so nice, funny, cute, and hes MATURE - aka hes the only guy that doesnt throw rocks at everyone during p.e. and hes the only guy that doesnt chuck scraps of paper at everyone in art. i like "bob" so much becuz hes so athletic! he runs so fast and he runs really long distances too. i saw him sprint at top speed and he was just this little blur speeding around. and hes so nice! he can be sarcastic, but its onloy in a teasing way. and im not sure if he likes me, but i think he might. anyways, my point is that is he said that to me, i would be so over-joyed id be bouncin off the walls and.... id be crazy cuz i hav a.d.d. lol. but i think amy really likes u thats wut it sounds like to me! but if she doesnt like u and u say that.... then........ well, it might be akward. but if she says "i really dont like u in the same way", then tell her "ok, then we can just be friends....?" but state that as a QUESTION. shell probably say yes. i really hope this whole thing works out for u!

If you're close enough with her I'd go with that. But if you don't think she feels that close..then leave out the speak to me part. And I would definitely give you a chance. =]

If I was Amy, I would be very touched. I'm sure she's very flattered that you like her so much, but maybe she wants you to slow down. What was her reaction to what you said to her?

That's pushing it a bit much. Go for something more subtle, or she is liable to laugh.
It's possible to retain the same sweetness and sincerity while sounding less...gay.
