Is this some type of nice way of telling me that he likes me, but when something better comes along he'll take that? or is it that he doesn't like the commitment?

it means, he really likes you, he's just not sure it he wants a relationship. i like him because he is truthful. he didn't string you along and get you all emotionally strung out on him and then get you into something that you may not have been prepared for and then dump you and leave you in an emotional wreck. he is putting the ball in your court. beautiful. you can decide now whether you want to be involved with him knowing where he stands. you can choose to involve yourself with him or you can choose to walk away. i think that every guy should be this honest. it would prevent alot of heartache. he might be like a lot of guys who fear commitment, thinking that if they get in a relationship that they'll lose themself, they will be trapped and not have their freedom. one day he may realize that he does want to be in a relationship, time will tell, the right person will be there and the right circumstances will be there. for now, play your position. don't get involved with him if you can't handle the emotional fallout. in the meantime, i wish you the best

he likes you, but he thinks he might get someone better, this WHOLE situation is playing out for me- it started 6 weeks or so ago, and it is totaly what they mean, I'm saying this from experience, stick around and let him know you arn't leaving just because you arn't going out- and he'll realise your the best he is ever going to get :3
