A good STRONG coax signal is just as good as LOW DEF video...That guy doesn't know JACK about why RF signals have certain benefits over Video Signals....

But that's NOT the point about your TV either....

You have to understand that the reason TV stations are switching to DIGITAL signals is to stop that Scratchy background for one thing....another is to be able to transmit 4 channels instead of 1 channel....more commercials making more money for each station out there...

But they are also forced to transmit the older noisy analog signal until 2009 and up to 2012 for Cable/Satellite....

All those old TV sets need signal, and they have to also wear out so people get a new HDTV set.
The whole process of conversion to HD /Digital is slated over a 12 year period....

Enjoy your TV, but stop looking at the background so much. You'll have to live with that signal for another 2 to 5 years....

Loose cables are the number one reason for poor picture quality.

Disconnect and re-connect all your cables. Trace the coax to the wall and un-screw, and re-connect everything. Tighten "F" connectors with a pair of pliers or a wrench at least a quarter turn past hand tight.
