I think it's great that God allows us to bring our questions to Him.
However, the rebellious question, the stubborn question, the question out of a heart of mockery, et cetera, God simply dismisses.
But He openly invites us to dialog with Him. He said "Come now, let us reason together ..."

Because it's a subject that falls into the category of "Religion & Spirituality", which is the section you're reading.
Personally, I'd find it much more strange if people were asking questions about "cod".

Religious people (I refer to people who believe in a God), are insecure, they obviously don't know if he exists (there wouldn't be a reason for faith in the first place) so they have to ask.
Non religious people, atheists, agnostics, they ask because a few billion people follow religions, so they have to wonder, WTF is up with all this people? And they are insecure as well, maybe the religious people know something they don't, etc.
Then there are people who just don't know, so boom, questions.
If God is real, which I doubt, I don't think we would be asking much about him.
