I have had good success with clove oil. It's a natural anestetic. Put a little on a clean pad between the outside of the tooth and the cheek. Gently suck the oil through.

Good luck!

I use Orajel Extra Strength. You can get it at any pharmacy. It works great! Just rub it onto the sore area. The pain should stop almost immediately. The area will just be numb.

Also take a couple of aspirn. Then call the dentist. depending on how long the tooth has been hurting, he may elect to give you some antibiotic, which requires a prescription.

Good luck!

Definately the best solution is whole cloves from the bakery section of the store. The same types you put in hams when you bake them.

All you do is break off the sharp points and put the rest between the tooth and gums. The clove numbs the area and if the problem is an abcess it will disinfect the area and reduce the abcess.
