This is the scenario. I just recently sold my airline mileage of 6,590 for AAdvantage Miles from American Airlines. What is exactly stated on the auction follows:

Last Activity Date: 06/17/07

Expires 18 Months Later ON: December 17, 2008

6,590 American Airlines MILES for AAdvantage/AA.com

The winner of this auction will get my user name and password and of course THE MILES. No refunds. Please review the terms and conditions of AA.com for any restrictions and corporate policies. Upon complete cleared payment, I will e-mail you the information. You can use and do whatever you want with these miles. These are great for your travel needs and uses. PayPal ONLY.

After paying and the transaction is complete, the buyer calls and demands a refund because they can't transfer the miles for free. She states they are not transferrable. What I simply sold was my account, it states to review the airline site beforehand also.

What will happen now?

Your mileage is not enough to redeem a free ticket and she can't combine two accounts together, airline charges high transaction fee for mileage transfer.

If she complains you, you have to refund her money. Otherwise, paypal may remove you money directly.

You should be in the clear, first - you stated no refunds. Next you stated to review airline policies. Do not deal with an idiot buyer that doesn't know how to fully read and understand an auction. I despise these type of losers. If I was you I would contact paypal and see what your rights are before they are the first to open a claim. You can send them an email so you have documentation and then follow up with a phone call if yo want quicker results. They have an 800 number and are always friendly to talk to when I have questions. Best of luck to you!

Paypal will probably take the money back and refund her. They usually do that with buyer complaints.
