i was upstairs checking my email while listening to my iPod. She called my name down for dinner she says 5 times but i couldn't hear. when i got downstairs she's like, "im taking your iPod give it to me. I've called you to come 5 times."
i said im sorry, i couldn't hear you.
Then she hid it somewhere. Then she went somewhere and i looked for it for about 5 minutes.
I asked her if i could have it back to put it away and i wouldnt listen to it i just wanted to have it in my posession and know where it was. she says no, and starts laughing about other tthings and trying to make me forget about it. i got really mad and walked away. i looked through her purse and she got so mad at me. she was screaming and said i was grounded. then i really lost my cool and ran upstairs and was like you know... feeling mad. i really want it back just becase sometimes she forgets where she puts things when she hides them. im 14 and she always says ohhh ur a teenager so its just normal for you to blow up a

She is being annoying & wants to push your buttons. I remember when I was 14 my aunt would do stuff like that & knew I would get mad. I would continue to look for it until you find it! thats what I did. then I hid it from her.

Oh, I can just feel your Mom's frustration and yours. Your Mom was really upset that she had to call you 5 times and saying you are sorry doesn't mean anything to her when it probable has happen before and she knows it will happen again, but the good news is there is a compromise you can both reach. Tell your Mom you are sorry about the way you behaved but the ipod is very important to you and from now on when she wants your attention she will have it. You need to give your Mom something she wants in order for you to get what you want. Maybe your Mom wants a hug and wants to know you appreciate her.

You know, parents are well intentioned but they mess up like all of us. There is no point in being mad! Just say you're sorry to her and see what she says. There is no point in working yourself up. However, I do hate ipods (damn technology alienates people)!!!! You sound like a really nice person!! Cheer up.
P.S:
You have no idea how my parents are. My father had his father die when he was still a kid, so he does not know how to be a father. Also, he lived in Franco Spain...Thus, you can imagine the authoritarianism!! He screams, insults, and prevents you from going places. I have only ever had 3 friends in life, no girlfriends and a pretty stunted emotional growth at age 17. This is all my parents doing. What can I say? I try to be sociable....I have probably had a pretty pathetic life till now.

I would have grounded you also, you NEVER go threw your mothers purse! As for the ipod, maybe next time don't turn it up so loud, or only use one ear bud. I would also be annoyed if I had to yell for my kids more then once to come to the table for dinner. Even if you don't like it, you have to follow their rules. And getting mad and acting like a child isn't going to get your ipod back any faster. Just leave her alone till she cools down, and show some respect and don't go threw your mothers purse again.

Your mom is just messing with your head. A good torture if you ask me. But really, you need to try to keep your cool about your ipod. If you get caught snooping again, you will surely get an even mer severe punishment.

You know when dinner is, you shouldn't have to be called at all. Actually you should be helping.
