I am not a US citizen or a green card holder , I live in the caribbean, but I have a ten year visa to the US. Will the army change my visa status so I could work as a linguist??

no. the Army cannot help you get the Green card or change your Visa.. Besides..you MUST be a citizen to work at DLI.

It would be better to apply for a position with the CIA as they have operatives in many different locations and from different countries. They could possibly grant you a work visa and a contract for a year for a trail. It is worth a shot!

Since you are in the Caribbean, there must be a U.S. embassy or consulate in the area. If so, check with them. If it's an embassy, see if they have a military attache assigned who can forward your CV and details on to the appropriate Army command.

I am not sure but I saw an article online that the army and FBI need linguists.Why don't you try to apply online.If they accept you work visa will be in order and from there you can start working on your green card

You could theoretically be an interpreter, but not a linguist. You can't hold the appropriate clearance.
