strength train and keep your calories at a maintenance level. muscle mass is not so simply increased, the diet determines the size of the muscles not the amount of weight used to stimulate them. there has to be a caloric excess in the diet in order for there to be muscle growth.
muscle also does not slow you down. muscle is fired or triggered by electrical stimulus, this is known as reflex action. The greater amount of muscle firing in unison - the greater the overall response - which equals an increase in speed as well as strength.
this is why there are weight categories in boxing, MMA, etc. all skills being equal a 150 lb man going up against a 200 lb man will lose every time, he is simply out powered
plus Karate is basically a hard style so extra muscle/strength would only be a benefit.

severe weight low reps. carry close on your max and carry interior the 5-6 rep selection. you will benefit often power with little mass. Bruce lee replaced into very very very rapid yet no longer very stable, the final male is better than him. you % a real exersise application, your unlikely to make many features of any type attempting to no longer advance.
