Easy.Child abuse is where parents do not discipline their kids in a way where they know there are consequences bad enough to want to avoid by disobeying. It is also injuring them physically to the point of where they are scarred physically for life, or have to go to the hospital.
Spanking when done right maybe painful tot he child when it is necessary, but the pain goes away the the memory is a reminder of what will happen if they disobey,it doesnt leave a lifetime physical scar, and when they reach adulthood they realize they had left their parent no other option, and are grateful they were forced to obey ,being they were rebellious children who couldnt reason on an adult level and wanted what they wanted regardless.

I completely agree with 21 weeks. If I am disciplining my child, I will make sure he or she knows what they did wrong and I will smack them (open handed) on the butt. Once or twice is plenty. Not with excessive force, just enough for them to know mommy means business. If I am abusing my child, i will punch them, burn them, kick them, shove them, slap them in the face, etc...for no real reason. That's the difference.
