GTA San Andreas not working in my 80GB PS3?

Question

i read other peoples answers saying they can, but it loads the main GTA loading screen and then says 'error reading disc: san andreas'

anything i can do and how??

im updated to the latest update.

I checked the backward compatibility status for GTA San Andreas on the 80GB PS3 on the Playstation website, and it said that San Andreas is compatible with the 80GB PS3 and that there is no problems with playing the game.

If the game disc is really scratched up, that can be the problem. Other than that, I have no idea what it could be. I play San Andreas on my 60GB PS3 all the time and even though I know that the 60GB model plays nearly all PS2 games and the 80GB PS3 plays most of them, the 80GB PS3 is compatible with it too and it should play it.

Is it a PS2 game? I only play sports games but I do know that the PS3 80GB machine only has a ps2 emulator. It will only play certain ps2 games. They removed the EE chip that was present in the PS1 and PS2 which allowed the PS2 to play PS1 games. The 40gb doesn't even have the software. I would go to the sony site and see if there is any help.

the only PS3 consoles that play PS2 game discs are the 20GB, 60GB and a 2007 80GB type ! No diverse PS3 console will play PS2 game discs ! They do have some reformulated PS2 tities indoors the psstore designed to play on all PS3 consoles and GT SA is one among them !
