This is so gross and embarrassing, but I think I have ringworm. It is on my chin. I just bought some antifungal cream.

In general is it better to cover it with a bandage or let it open to the air? I'm not sure if it matters or not, but it is currently not dry. If it is better to let it air out, would it do more damage to cover it up (when I go out in public, because it looks disgusting)?

Also, is there anything I can do to get it to dry?

I used a bandage on mine (it was on the side of my leg) but it was dry not moist.

Got it from my cat last year, HE healed upin a month, but humans take 6-8 weeks, so a bandage will be better for you I think.

We used an $8 tube of Miconazole which is a 4% solution. That's the generic brand, if you want brand name, it's called Monistat 3. It's cheaper than the other antifungal creams and does the same job (I asked the pharmacist, he verified it). Use the cream 3 times a day.

Fast Ringworm Cure?

NO! Don't cover it. What an aggravating place to get it. You have my sympathy. You been smooching the cat? Don't be so embarrassed. Ringworm is in the soil all the time, so when dirt comes in contact with your skin you get the fungus (That's why I asked about the cat--they love to roll in dirt.). Make sure you are taking a good multi-vitamin to keep your immune system healthy, so you can fight off bacteria and stuff better.

It makes no difference but if it bothers you, cover it. Just make sure the bandaid doesn't soak all the medication up - you may have to apply it more often because of the bandaid.
