That all of us are the descendents of Noah and his three sons.We are one big family, with the same RED blood flowing in our veins.

The Flood shows God's righteous anger and holy justice upon a sinful, corrupt & rebellious world but the Ark shows God's love, grace and mercy toward those who put their trust in Him.

The flood probably took place due to the massive ice melt at the end of the last ice age. According to some geologists there is some geological evidence that a huge lake may have formed in the glaciers covering much of North America at that time. They believe that an "ice dam", or a section of the glaciers that was holding in all the water suddenly gave way and allowed a HUGE amount of water to suddenly flow out into the ocean.

This sudden outflow probably caused massive tsunamis all around the globe.

Some scientists have even claimed there is evidence that the huge run off may have been caused by a large asteroid striking the ice-sheet and instantly vaporizing a large section of it. The huge amount of water vapor thrown into the atmosphere probably would have caused massive rainstorms all around the globe.

As for its importance for us today...
There may be a possibility that a similar lake may form in Antarctica at some point if global warming continues unchecked. It may even form in pockets that will remain covered in ice so that they will be difficult to detect until part of the ice gives way and allows the massive volume of water to flow into the ocean. In short, we might see another cataclysmic flood.

It probably wouldn't be as bad as the last one. But, I could easily imagine a billion or more people ending up dead along all the coastlines of the continents.

So, the main thing of importance about the biblical story of the flood would be that it may have been a record of an actual event, (with a bunch of religious crud tacked onto it). A similar event could take place sometime in the near future.

By the way, the flood myth isn't just in the bible. There are similar flood myths in a lot of ancient cultures all around the globe. The Greeks had a story about a man named Deucalion that survived the flood. The Indian have stories about a man named Manu that survived the flood. There are many others.

Interestingly, not all of them survived by building boats. Some survived in sealed caves. Some survived on high mountains. Some survived because "angel" like creatures took them up to heaven temporarily when the flood took place.

That God cleansed the earth before and is capable of doing so again. Also the manner of the times. Although he has promised to not do it again with water, He has promised to cleanse the earth and restore it to paradise conditions.

Also, that He had all the people warned before the flood came for a 120 years. The people just laughed as their hearts were not interested in God or serving Him....until the rain started. Suddenly they got so much more interested in serving God! Imagine that!!

But the ark doors were shut by God. Time was up. Too late.

Likewise today, all people are being warned of the impending destruction of this wicked system of things. People do as they do on R&S, just laugh and ridicule. They will continue until it is too late. Suddenly they will get very interested in God. God will have other things to do. The ones who have followed his commands now will be the ones He will protect then as long as they remain faithful right through what the Bible calls the Great Tribulation into the new cleansed earth.

10 million years ago our earth flooded and all was buried for ever and now has turned to petrafied rock.

Bones and Dinosaurs..still being found all hard and some intact for over 100 million years...WOW
You mean to tell me that it took that long for Man to become civilized?

What in the hell happened to earth 200 million years ago?

Why are we now just getting on top?

It looks like to me that whatever wiped out the Dinosaur be it flood or the meteor that struck earth hafl its size...the earth will eventually be destoryed again and history will repat itself. so go out and enjoy life and praise God and not worry aboyt the destruction of earth just make sure the bills area paid...and be controlled by our Government that likes to take it when they want it.
