Has anyone here noticed how cops and civilians have two totally different views on this. Civilians know what honesty is, and cops know only deceit. Sad.

Anyone driving while intoxicated or under the influence of any drug, for that matter, needs to be taken off the road. No exceptions. Zero tolerance.
P.S. Speaking of "crimes", consider yourself given a Warning for "Writing vague questions when something like 'Should a cop arrest a fellow cop for DUI?' would have sufficed". Multiple offenses may result in "Report Abuse" being issued, and, possibly, having your privileges on this website revoked. If you had written a more relevant question, I would have given you an "Interesting" star! Your hand has been thoroughly spanked. The next step is up to you (please don't take the Britney/Lindsay/Paris option!). ;)

No, the crack could have been got here upon interior the hunt of the handbag on the station. you have 3 violations, 4 if the state has needed insurance regulation, so she replaced into moving into no remember if the officer stumbled on the crack on the site visitors provide up. because of the fact the motive force could have been taken into custody, the police might have the motor vehicle towed in. If she did not take the handbag, it nevertheless could have been inventoried by utilising the police to guard them from destiny claims of lacking assets. on the station the handbag could have been searched in an attempt to make certain identity. the only way she could have prevented the drug cost might to have saved her composure and produced the information the officer asked for. in keeping with how a lot over the shrink she replaced into, she probable might have pushed off with a value ticket.

This is what I think SHOULD be done. There is such a thing as professional courtesy, But I would make sure someone came to pick him up, Like a family member. He already knows the law, and knows that he was in the wrong. By making someone come and pick him up, You could be saving someones life. I would keep it pretty hush to the department but have a talk with him later. Let him know that he put you in a horrible position, and he knows what harm he could have done. Maybe then you can have 1 up on him, and believe me, It has its perks. LOL I think thats what would happen in real life... Maybe not 100% right... But thats just what I think. For those who would down my answer because they are against it, Go through the academy and then we'll talk.

You stated that you suspected that he was a drunk driver. Was he drunk? If he was call your sergeant and have him report to the scene and then it's your supervisor decision.

DUIs are a big no no, I would arrest him, just as I would arrest any civilian for DUI, just because he is a sergeant, does not mean I would let him off, he should know better.

well, since 2 weeks ago, I arrested an investigator from our department, I would say....I would run him through field sobriety tests and make the arrest if he fails them. why do I care where he works? I have arrested friends, relatives, other cops and had another cop come to a motorist assist and run my WIFE through field sobriety tests. she passed, she was pissed, but I have a reputation to look after and an oath to uphold.
do you think I care if I am liked in my department? I do my job, and hang out with my friends and family. I could give a rats *** if the posers on my department like me.

If he (the sergeant) puts you in this situation then he can't blame you for doing your job.

Take a phone camera video, and use it to blackmail him into a patrol near the doughnut shop.
