With an SUVs higher center of gravity this is often enough to cause a rollover.
The last thing you want when in an SUV is to be involved in a rollover because their roofs are generally not as strong as car roofs. Roof crush is not good for your neck & spine. Drive safely. The standards for roof crush are low & car industry lobbying against improvements is a scandal.

Yes, I know - that's one reason why I don't drive an SUV any more. They don't even have a standardized test for roof structure integrity. And just think of all the people who buy them because they think it's safer...

only if its 4wd like a rangerover... and your oversimplifying it...

what happens is... you go to overtake, at speed, but the steering seems unresponsive... so you tweak the steering a bit, only to over cook it, and swerve the opposite way, an dit all of a sudden catches up with you, and you hit the central reservation, or the armco barrier, and keep on going...

ive had landys and rangeys, and now i have a toyota, they werent designed to do 90mph... theyre too high, and the footprint isnt wide enough... and dues to incredible axle articulation, they climb mountains... so a 2 feet safety barrier isnt much of an obstacle...

the standards for roof crush is about the same as the standards of stupidity... this is NOT a playststion game... so why drive like it is?

i think about it but don't really mean it... most people that drive bad enough to make you wanna plow them into a guardrail will probably get themselves or others killed at some point so i am always wondering what in the hell could be so important to be willing to risk their lives like that

Hit a guardrail with enough force and you'll tip any car from a mini to a transit van

Regarding guard rails, your statement is BS.

Guard rails are designed to divert vehicles as large as big rigs. When considered at that scale, and, at highway speeds, SUVs and Minis are as insignificant gnats.

the old term guardrails has been changed several years ago to guiderail in Pa.

That's true, but I don't know where you got that an SUV roof is less safe.
