Do absolutely nothing. I am heavily tattoed, and have a tattoo in my lip. I have never rubbed cream on any of my work, didn't use listerine in my mouth and everything healed perfectly. Leave it alone, don't touch it, don't think about it. A tattoo artist once told me that the reason artists give out aftercare instructions is really just to increase the longevity of the tattoo experience, to make the client feel like they are experiencing the tattoo everyday it's healing. There is no need to do anything to a tattoo after it is finished except let it heal.

Oh, and by the way, my lip tattoo is 7 years old and hasn't faded a bit, and besides even if it did who gives a crap nobody can see it anyways!

You don't use antibacterial ointments for this. Just rinse with an alcohol free mouthwash very gently and use a kid's toothpaste - or at least not one with the bleach in it.

I do permanent make-up and we give an antibacterial ointment to the client to put on a few times a day to help it heal and kill bacteria

Lip tattoos are horrible. They hurt soo bad when getting them on and they fade. So it looks like you have skin cancer on your lip.
