Those who have died in sin and are cast into the lake of fire and brimstone will suffer from heat unrelent. Inside as well as out will burn.
Yet, the thing that will torment those who rebelled against God and refused his free gift of salvation the most is not the flames, the fire, but the knowledge of knowing this fate could have been avoided if they only had believed.

You miss the point of the fires of Hell.
Take the God Shiva for example. One hand is a gesture of Come to me. The other holds a sword. Nasty to one who misses the point. a God with a Sword? not to nice for your nicey, nice, ice cream, Brady bunch world.
BUT he holds a sword that will Cut your EGO to pieces if you Hold on to you EGO/. LET go you see that He is cutting away the thoughts that hold you back from a greater knowledge.
The FIRES of hell Burn away the ideas that hold you back from a higher existence. The image of God itself needs to be burned away.
The ancients understood this. They did not take metaphor as history they used it to be better human beings.
HELL is a good thing west of the Suez canal in eastern religions and was Borrowed from them.
Persia borders India and Israel.
Of course you see it as silly because you know that a literal hell cannot exist. YOU miss the Wisdom and the lesson of 100,000 years of human experience when you dismiss the Metaphor.

Do you really think G.d will burn anyone? I think he will have just punishments but not burning or living an eternity in hell. He gave us a choice and if we don't make the right choices we will have to pay the price. But I think it will be like sweeping the streets of heaven or picking sultana's out of Sultana Bran for the good folk who don't like em.

It was made pretty obvious in the bible that "god" is a pyromaniac. On the other hand he would probably have a lot more time to think up an even worse punishment should the "second coming" actually happen. My question is. Is this a benevolent "god"?

it is your choice to follow God or not, and yours only, he didn't force anybody to do anything. To just die would be to escape your punishment for rejecting him. why do you think people commit suicide, its to escape from they're problems, but there is no escaping God, and you will pay for your sins for eternity. When the bible talks about burning who said it was physical? It is the burning of the soul always being reminded of your seperation from him.

God has a place for believers. It is a place of love. God has a place for unbelievers. It is a place without love. Fire is a part of the place of hell. But being taken out of hell and standing before God at a judgement that places one in a lake of fire for eternity will be nastier that hell. Because you will stand in front of who you reject.

Dante's Inferno. Good one. Dante got that idea from the Apocalypse of Peter.
