(Not to lie, or cheat, or steal, or hurt someone weaker than you, et al)
I'll start: I was just recalling my youth. And, even though I attended Sunday School regularly, I never learned it there. I don't recall them teaching it (The 10 Commandments) there.
During my early youth my parents told me "Don't lie, or cheat, or steal cause you will caught". So I made sure not to get caught when I did those things.
I guess my answer is: When I got my first broken heart I vowed to never do that to another person. Ergo I stopped even considering to lie, or cheat, or steal cause to do so might break someone's heart.
So the question is: When was the first time you (really) learned "right from wrong"?

Wow...deep question my friend. I was raised to know right from wrong but an honest answer to your question would be when I had my first child. That is when the reality of morals really sunk in. I realized for the first time that someone was looking to me to set the standard. It was a humbling realization.

For me it has been an ongoing process that continues until today and will continue until I die.
Sure, there are easy things to learn. Don't cheat, don't steal, and other stuff.
But did you know that it's forbidden to speak badly about another person even if it's true? There are rules where it can be done, but it's very strict.
Did you know it's even forbidden to embarrass someone in any way?
And then there are ways of helping other people. It's so hard to do without embarrassing them.
If I really learned right from wrong, I'd only do right, and that hasn't happened yet.

Gershon

I never really learned it myself...I guess I just kind of understood when my parents told me that it was wrong because I would not like it if others did the same to me. The Golden Rule works wonders, and if you are able to put yourself into other people's shoes like that, you will often be unwilling to harm anyone else and to get ahead through exploiting them. I kind of just learned what I believe to be the innate human sense of fairness, equality, and justice, and just did not steal, or cheat from there.
Lying is a whole 'nother ball game, however...

Right and wrong are just words. The ideas of what is right and what is wrong varies from belief to belief. What is right for you may be wrong for someone else.
I really didn't learn right-from-wrong until I "wronged" a friend very severly. For a time after that, I always tried to do "right". But then I realized that right and wrong were flawed concepts. Things are only right because you say they are. In some cultures, stealing raping and killing are encouraged.
Think that one over a bit.

well every body including say the word God in english or some other language. The fact is that religions make you believe in God the way most people do. But I believe that the is a higher being that is in existence who created or put everything in place for some reason beyond our comprehension. I don't know what it is or who it is, but its out there.

I honestly don't remember. It was probably at some point in grade school. When I was really little, I rarely got in trouble because I was a "pleaser". I think at some point in grade school I preferred to do what was right because that always felt better than doing what was wrong.

When I was five and physically fighting with my brother who was three. I gave him a good push and he fell and broke his wrist. It was then I realized that I could hurt people without real thought and I knew that was wrong.
