That depends upon your filing status and how many qualifying children you have. If you have no qualifying children your age is a factor as well.

With your situation the max earned income is $36,347 to receive any EIC. If you're close to that, don't jump for joy as it's only $5.00. The maximum of $4,536 is paid between $11,300 and $14,850 for a taxpayer in your situation. Those are the numbers for 2007. 2008 may differ slightly.
