Spider plants (Chlorophytum) have typical monocot leaves with parallel veins. The leaves form a rosette and have leaf sheaths. They don't have petioles (stalk that attaches leaf blade to stem) or hairs, like many dicot leaves you might be familiar with.

leaves are basal, linear, hooded acute. They lack a peduncle.
