They do believe in design. Otherwise they would be waiting for their ford escort to evolve into a corvette. Not gonna happen and they know it.

There is obviously design in nature and in ourselves - it is always the question of - where did it all come from, meaning who or what designed us?
God is a religious ploy - that is all it ever is. There is no God the Creator of the universe, in terms of religious definition - that never existed as such.
If you believe God is the Creator, or Designer - then who designed the Designer? Himself? That is not a credible answer, meaning the theory is inadequate and therefore invalid.
The designer could be a process - which in one theory is called 'the creation' - in that the creative life force is in every living thing. There never was a so-called entity, a designer as such...
One rejects religion - because it is obviously a set up. Not to glorify God - but to give the church, and religion - power and control (manipulation) over the people, so that they can have their kingdoms here on Earth - such as the Vatican, and their various physical churches, etc. And to always be telling us, how to think, act and believe... etc.

Bet you don't even know what evidence means. If you do, give it. While you're at it it, define science, explain the scientific method (accurately, not in your church-leader's words), explain what "design" means and then support your "obvious" evidence.
