Are the people in apostacy, but not the Church in its divine essence?

I am trying to clarity on Fr. Joseph's recent statement.....

Well, St. Anselm said that the Church is a continuation of the Incarnation. In its purest form ("divine essence" as you call it) - I would say that Anselm was correct.

However...the human element of the Body of Christ is fallen by nature, not like our Lord who was sinless.

People can fall away: "As the Church of Jerusalem, Alexandria, and Antioch, have erred, so also the Church of Rome hath erred, not only in their living and manner of Ceremonies, but also in matters of Faith."
