They ask if you read the bible, but the real question is, did they?
First of all the bible was written a long time ago, and if anyone wants to say, "you shouldn't be gay" Well then I guess those people should be wearing sandles, have one pair of cloths and no home.
Heres an example: Are there any christians out there that believe it is right to have women priests, or women do anything for that matter? Well THE BIBLE FORBIDS IT.. just like being gay! and you know what else? Men.. You dare not wear a hat, or have long hair.. women, if youdon't have long hair, that is also a problem!

The bible needs to be applied to today. Times change. And culture plays a big roal in it, Jesus was belived to have long hair, while Paul, who never even met Jesus says that men should not have long hair...

The reason this bother me so much is because I am a lesbian and I belive in Jesus whole heartedly, and it hurts when you think you've found a christian friend, but they are really against you.

They are such sinners themselves that they must find people that they can judge to be MORE sinners than themselves. When in reality, Jesus Christ himself never said anything against homosexuals yet did clesrly state, "Judge thee not, lest thee be judged."

It's just hypocrisy in the extreme, and don't let it bother you. Little people have little minds.

Not all Christians believe that way. Look at the Episcopal church, in turmoil now because it dared to anoint a gay bishop. The problem is that the wing-nuts somehow got it in to their heads that it is they who get to decide who is holier than thou, it is they that control the path to the cross.

And most of the mainstream churches around the world let it happen.

Well, homosexuality is an abomination. But still not murder or rape.

I am a Christian that thinks homosexuality is wrong but I treat all people equally. I have known many homosexuals and have worked with many and see them for what they are a good person or a bad person. Being homosexual does not make a person a bad person.

Btw, you should really look up the meaning of the word ignorant.

Not all of them are of course, but then you already know that. It's part of the human condition - there are always those who like to take a righteous stance, and since most people do not find homsexuality tempting in the least, it's easy for these self-styled moral leaders to criticize it as they know it'll never happen to them.

I am a Christian and I have no issue or trouble with gays. Not all Christians do. I am for gay marriage. I am sorry that you got hurt. People can be cruel.

Lots of people take parts of the Bible and use it to fit their own agenda. There's a verse in Leviticus that advocates murdering a person caught having sex with a member of the same sex. The truth of it all is there's nothing wrong with homosexuality. It's perfectly normal and existed since the beginning of human beings. Jesus Christ traveled around with 12 men -- hmmm, sure does make you wonder doesn't it?

your statement just shows that you do not have a personal relationship with Jesus. Jesus is against the act of homosexuality. sin is sin to God. there is no little sin and there is no big sin. its all a sin.

in order to KNOW Jesus you must KNOW His father and the word He has set out for us. you cant skip, hop and jump parts of the bible to accommodate your lifestyle and then think God is ok with it. you either for Him or against Him.

yes, you are right. people can be cruel and people can be ignorant. but just because someone is not for your choice does NOT make them ignorant about homosexuality.

Most Christians are Catholic and I didn't know we were known for hatred of gays; i think our position was clearly articulated by Pope Paul VI in 1969. Perhaps you are thinking of these rag-tag hate-mongering heretics they call "fundamentalists" They are deeply hostile to gays because they are a lot more jewish than they are Christian, and Judaism is the historical origin of religious antipathy towards homosexuality; prior to the advent of Judaism no religion had ever uttered a word on the subject and many pagan faiths - particularly that of the Greeks - seemed to have somewhat glorified it. Please address "Christians" by denomination,so people who you are addressing. There is a lot of difference between a Catholic and a fundie and little difference between fundies and judaism.

Homosexuality is no bigger sin than adultery, fornication or any other sins committed by lusts. Homosexuality is same-sex lust, adultery heterosexual lust. In fact the lust for money is considered idolatry in the Bible (Col. 3:5).
I have homosexual friends and I love them for who they are, despite their sexual orientation. I don't approve of their practice and they know it, but they also know that I love them anyway.

Consider the following verses:
"Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
And THAT IS WHAT SOME OF YOU WERE. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
"Everything is permissible for me"— but not everything is beneficial. "Everything is permissible for me"— but I will not be mastered by anything."
1.Cor. 6:9-12

Ackh! Homosexuality is not a special sin! It's a sin like any other. No sin is higher on the "condemnation scale" than others. (If anyone ever tells you that being a lesbian is a sin, remind them that judging is a sin too).

My argument against homsexuality is that it ain't natural. If two gay guys were alone in the middle of a forest, they couldn't make more humans. But hey, if you want to be a lesbian, go ahead.
