Darlington Raceway in South Carolina was the first racetrack to have been raced on in the NASCAR circuit that was paved. This first race was on Labor Day weekend in 1950, two years after NASCAR was founded.

Darlington was the first paved track and Rickey Craven just helped start the repaving by using a jackhammer at the start/finish line.
