Same day, released to his parents. If he was an adult in California, you get a cite release. More like a ticket, but it costs less.

Most likely it's a juvenile case. Find out which jail and bail. How much time he gets depends on how much weed he had and if other charges were put on him. Call and find out.

It depends on the state and on the amount of weed. Did he have paraphernalia? Did they get him for intent to sell?
Going to jail for possession, especially somebody that young, is rare. It shouldn't be very long.
