One Hindu holiday is Diwali, the festival of lights. It's HUGE. I have many Indian friends and that's the only holiday that holler about! lol. At least to me.

Hindus : Deepaavali and Navaraatri are two very important Holidays celeberated by ALL HIndus----Holi only in North India and Pongal in Tamil Nadu alone.

Hindus do believe in spirit communication, that is for sure, but this body of knowledge is a closely guarded secret of mainly Tantrics and can be learned through a guru. The emphasis on "Teacher-Disciple" relationship for learning is because of inherent dangers involved. Spirits generally need a medium to communicate, and many a time the spirit refuses to leave the medium. Only that souls which has not attained moksha, can be invoked. This is all I know.

Buddhism does not celebrate specific days as holidays. Depending on what sect of Buddhism you follow you might celebrate the Buddha's birth or Buddha's death (para nirvana), but the dates of the celebration are different between sects as well.
