My wife and I used to own a salon, and we never did any background checks.

I have never heard of any salons doing background checks. Perhaps if you wanted to work in a casino/hotel salon in Vegas they would do a background check, but for most salons on any corner shopping center, no background check is required.

A ten year old drug charge. Well I guess that's a little harsh? Get it expunged. Workers Compensation is often requiring companies to do drug and alcohol checks to make sure people that are drunk or stones are not causing the environment to be unsafe for others to work in.

yes. i wanted to be a cosmetologist but they found a drug charge for ten years back. my friend had a clean record but she had to do random alcohol and blood tests and got fired after a week.
