I drink about 1-2 cups of coffee 5-7 times a week. Other than the stains on my teeth and frequent bathroom runs, does coffee have any long-term effects on a person's health?

Hi! My coffee-drinking habits are very similar to yours, and I work in the health field. Coffee isn't the most healthy beverage on the planet, but if you keep it to 1-2 cups a day (max), you should be fine, provided you drink enough water and are otherwise in good health. Coffee is a diuretic: it stimulates your body to get rid of excess water through the kidneys, etc.--The problem is that most Americans don't drink ENOUGH water and hence have no "excess" to release, hence coffee can have a dehydrating effect on the body.

Caffeine is an addictive substance, but definitely one of the least "harmful" ones in existence:) I can explain the addictive properties of caffeine/coffee if you'd like, but I've got to run right now, so message me in you want that additional info. Other than that, there's your answer. Hope it helps!!!:)

There is no evidence that moderate consumption of coffee is detrimental to a person's health. The operative word here is "moderate".
