Everyone in my school asks everyone they see for there myspace, nexopis, and my space. If someone in my school finds out my email, they email me asking me to add them on my space. I tell them I don't have it, they ask why, and I say i'm not allowed on it. They lol, and walk, and never talk to me again. I thought I was a loner cause my hairs too long cause the popular group says they'd let me in if I cut it. And even they ask for my facebook, nexopia, and myspace. So what is it? My hair, or my mom won't let me on my space? Or both? Do you think it's geeky to not have myspace?

I'm not sure how old you are. I do not allow my children to have a myspace either.
Have you ever seen the movie "Mean Girls"...? You will find that if you change YOU, then you become one of THEM, and they don't really like you that way either. They are fake.
You are better off without friends like that. If they ask again, say something more along the lines of, "I don't have one because I don't have time for that childish stuff! " And say it like you MEAN IT!
My daughter is like you. She is starting to get friends that are there for her. I used to be YOU...and then I eventually found friends and found that I am a worthy person! I am loved for being ME. It was lonely until that point.
Your hair...is part of a beautiful you! Keep it nice, clean, brushed and enjoy it! Not everyone can have long hair!

Good luck! And email me if you need to "talk"...!

Listen dude, I'm a bit of a loner at heart myself and I have facebook, and I can say that although I believe it to be a popularity contest, it is still a good method of keeping in touch with old schoolfriends and such. But your mom does not have a right to stop you from using myspace and/or facebook if your over 12 years. Don't worry about it mate.

My thirteen year old is not allowed to have a myspace page. Don't worry so much about being popular. You may not believe it right now but one day, your individuality will pay off. I was a loner too. Now I have a good life and family.

It's the "in" thing for them. If you dont have one, they think you are not "in" with the latest trend, etc. The popular group is saying they would let you in if you cut it. So they must like you, just not your appearance.

Myspace is ok if you keep your profile set to private. But, if there are people at school that you dont really know or talk to, what's the point in adding them even if you did have a profile.

Dont change your hair or anything for that matter. When I was in school, I had tons of the popular group always tell me I could hang with them if I didnt hang with my BF at the time. I never did. They obviously wanted me to be something I wasnt. Looking back - considering I've been out of school for a long time, those popular people tend to have issues of their own. 1) they act snotty and better b/c they lack something 2) they feel power if they have "others" be like them so they dont look geeky. 3) dont give into them. Be yourself.

No, I think your parents have good reasons for not allowing you to have myspace. Not having a myspace is not a dealbreaker. Don't worry about those kids; they will grow up and realize it's not that big of a deal either. In the meantime, find some friends who can see your true worth.

Listen, all those so called "popular" kids will not matter in a few years. Just study hard go to college and get a great job. At your highschool reunion, show them up with all the money you make and the great life you have. There is nothing wrong with not having a myspace. If that is what it takes to make them like you, then they aren't worth your time.

No, I think it's geeky to have myspace. Anyway, do you want to be friends with people who'll only like you if you cut your hair? If you want to go on myspace, do it. You can look at it in school or internet cafes and your parents won't know. If you think it'll help you have more friends, then what's the harm?
"popular" means that you're well-liked by a lot of people. By this definition, the people you refer to as "popular" are in fact not popular at all, since they only accept each other based on appearance and other superficial things.
