We went over this in science, if you are just normally sitting there than no, but if you are having a seizure, or broke your jaw casueing the tissue to tear (It wouldn't be correctly in your mouth then) but mostly other than that you can't swallow your tongue.

If the muscle that keeps your tongue in place relaxes (usually involuntarily), your tongue can actually slide back into your throat, blocking the airway.
