Yes, it can cause an overbite. It is not ideal to have your tongue pushing on your teeth when swallowing, talking, etc. It is called a tongue thrust and can not only effect your teeth but also your speech.

Not exactly.

Although the tongue is a very important part for you're teeth.

Everyone time you sleep, you're teeth are wrapped around you're tongue.

You're teeth have the shape of you're tongue if you haven't noticed.

If you have a large, out of place tongue, then, however, it can push you're teeth forward for being there for a long period of time.

every time you put anything behind your teeth with pressure, it helps, your tongue does, but only when you push on it :P

yes. i know this because my orthodontist told me to stop pushing it against the back of my teeth or they'd move too far.

no.....not unless 24 hours a day you were pushing on them. And I'm pretty sure you won't be doing that. so, go to an ortho!
